Glo Restaurant and Lounge is your favourite spot you haven’t been to yet. Their happy hour is a Victoria staple, with live DJs and food and drink specials that will help you wind down after a long day. Their menu is expertly curated and their rotating specials, desserts, and cocktails will keep things fresh and give you that variety you’re looking for.

For a top of the line experience, we recommend starting with the Glo Flatbread Trio, a sampling of their flatbreads that will hit the spot and prepare you for the entree to come. Our picks for the main course? The Bourbon Barbecue Ribs with potato bacon salad and seasonal vegetables. Maybe feeling something on the lighter side? The Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl will satisfy your palate without overloading your stomach. For dessert we recommend the Apple Cinnamon Creme Brulee, expertly prepared for you to finish off your dining experience.
Spoon’s Diner
Visitors to the Mayfair area might already be familiar with Victoria staple and brunch spot extraordinaire, Spoon’s Diner. Located in the heart of Midtown, Spoon’s is known for their expansive and unique breakfast menu, but also offers lunch options, dessert, and some of the friendliest servers in town! Famous for their over the top large portions, and the cozy, diner atmosphere that you can’t just find anywhere, Spoon’s is a go-to for many Victorians, and out of towners, to start their day (or afternoon!) with.

With build-your-own bennies and omelets, you can select toppings, meats, cheeses and sides to create exactly what you’re craving. Be sure to visit early in the day on Saturday for their weekly brunch specials, our fave is the Brioche French Toast, with rotating seasonal flavours to choose from. If you’re looking for something on the entree side of things, they have a full menu of fish and meat options, our choice is the flank steak with roasted carrots. Finish off with a specialty cocktail, or something off their extensive non-alcoholic menu, and you are set to go.
Wheelie’s
One part vintage chopper shop, one part unique restaurant, and one part live music venue. This is the foundation for the illustrious Wheelie’s. In the heart of Rock Bay, during the day it is split in half, with one half serving as a retail storefront and mechanic shop, selling merchandise and servicing old motorcycles, and the other half holding a hot lunch spot with delicious soups and sandwiches and other house made delicacies. When the sun goes down, the whole thing changes into a late night music venue boasting drink specials, live bands, and plenty of friends to chat with as you enjoy local craft beers and signature cocktails.

Known for their decadent sandwiches and delectable sides, we recommend a classic with The Brisket! Discovery Espresso rubbed beef brisket topped with bell pepper bbq sauce and ranch slaw and finished with pickles and fried shallots. Get it on its own, or pair it with the mac and cheese to make it a meal. Don’t leave without grabbing one of their house made ice cream sandwiches.
Moon Under Water
A perfect marriage of pub fare, fresh brewed beer and cider, distinctive cocktails, and fun events, Moon Under Water is an absolute treat.
